Community Rules
🎯 Our Goal
We are a board game community in Guadalajara, and our main goals are:
- Create spaces where people can socialize, talk, and connect with others who share a love of board games.
- Encourage fair trading through buying, selling, swapping, and auctioning games. We share deals to help players find games at accessible prices and support local stores.
- Create and promote events for socializing, both local gatherings and activities that support charitable causes.
📜 General Community Rules
- Inclusion and Respect: We are a community that values equality and healthy interaction. Comments, reactions, stickers, multimedia, or links that encourage hate, discrimination, disrespect, or any kind of violence are not allowed.
- Family-Friendly Environment: Sharing explicit content of any kind (sexual or violent) in any format (message, sticker, link, etc.) is strictly forbidden, as is mocking or referencing it.
- No Harassment: Any form of harassment is prohibited, whether online or during in-person gatherings. Jokes about situations that happen inside or outside the community are also not allowed.
- No Spam: Do not share content considered spam (cryptocurrencies, investments, pyramid schemes, etc.). This also includes mass and unjustified sticker spam.
- Respect the Topic: Each group has a defined purpose. The rules of each space and the topics it was created for must be respected.
- Off-Limits Topics: To avoid conflicts, discussing politics, sports, religion, entertainment gossip, or news (local or global) that has nothing to do with board games is prohibited.
- Complaints and Suggestions: Public negative comments or complaints about the community, its members, or the administrators are not allowed. Any issue must first be resolved by direct message. If needed, the administration will inform the whole community.
- Integration: In open groups, all members may participate in any conversation. Encouraging others to exclude or ignore any member is not allowed.
Note: Breaking any of these rules is grounds for immediate removal from the community.
💬 General Group
The General Group is the main meeting place, but its large size requires special considerations:
- Freedom with moderation: You can share games, ask for opinions, and send memes, videos, or podcasts related to board games. However, avoid flooding the chat with topics unrelated to the hobby, except for justified charitable causes that do not create excessive debate.
- Avoid local chatter: For very personal or inside conversations with your friends, we recommend creating private groups. That helps keep the General Group relevant for everyone.
- Be careful with jokes: Avoid heavy or abrasive conversations. What is clearly a joke to you may feel offensive or uncomfortable to someone else.
- Capacity limit and cleanup: The group has a WhatsApp participant limit. When it fills up, we remove inactive numbers. If you are removed for inactivity, you will still remain part of the community and the rest of the groups.
🛒 Buy-Sell Groups
Spaces dedicated exclusively to buying, selling, trades, auctions, store announcements, and promotions.
- Board Games Only: Selling any product or service unrelated to the hobby is prohibited.
- Responsibility: Any transaction is carried out at the participants’ own risk. The administration cannot guarantee the success of transactions or act as an intermediary.
- Respect in sales: Do not make comments that devalue, undermine, or mock other people’s posts, and do not interfere when two people are finalizing a deal.
- Auctions: There is an exclusive group for auctions, which remains closed to messages and is only opened when a dynamic is being held.
Reasons for immediate removal in Buy-Sell groups:
- Failing to deliver a game after receiving payment.
- Failing to pay after receiving a game.
- Not showing up for an agreed handoff without prior notice.
- Any clear case of fraud or financial loss caused by intent.
📍 Area Groups and Board Game Cafés
- City Areas: Designed to help people find others or stores in specific areas and organize local meetups more easily.
- Board Game Cafés: Created to organize visits to specific venues. Negative comments about the venues are prohibited in these groups; any complaint or concern about the service must be handled directly with the establishment.
🎲 Hobby and Event Groups
- Specific Hobbies: We have groups dedicated to specific interests such as miniature painting, role-playing games (RPGs), game design and development, or video games.
- Special Events: Temporary groups are created to coordinate attendance at conventions and events (such as Mega XP, Talent Land, Roll A Game Expo, etc.).
🛡️ Administration and Moderation
- Volunteering: We have a special group to coordinate voluntary support for specific events.
- Warnings: Breaking the rules of specific groups, when it does not warrant direct removal, will result in a warning. After three warnings, the member will be removed from that group.
- Authority: Group moderators and administrators have the right to issue warnings and moderate content based on these rules.
Any member of the community may and should contact the administrators if they notice someone is breaking these rules.
